FAQs

  • The parade will be held on Thursday, July 4, 2024. It will start at 11am. The parade begins at Depot and Ayer Roads and ends near the crosswalk between Hildreth Elementary and the library.

  • You can line up on either side of side of Ayer Road to watch. Generally, along the Common all the way down to the Library Field are the best viewing areas!

  • There is limited parking on residential streets. Please abide by any posted signs. There is parking on the cemetery side of Mass Ave near the end of the parade route, as well as the road leading to Bromfield School. The Bromfield lot is a great place to park if you plan to attend the field events after the parade.

  • All events are FREE and funded by generous donations and sponsors.

  • Located on the Library Field, we have fun, family-friendly activities such as greased pole climbing, sack races, and egg toss. The events begin at 12pm shortly after the parade is over.

  • The Harvard Lions Club will be offering delicious food for purchase. Their menu items include: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, fries, funnel cakes, fresh squeezed lemonade and other beverages. We are thankful for their partnership and support of Harvard’s July 4th celebration. The Harvard Lions Club is an active, diverse, growing organization of local men and women who enjoy working together contributing their time and talents to making a difference in the local community and beyond.
